We meet at 7:00 pm, the first Tuesday of the month for a short business session followed by a lively “show and tell” where members demonstrate current projects or techniques, and occasionally we are treated to a guest speaker.
Some of our members build and restore models professionally, many are amateurs who have built a few kits for their own pleasure, and others are new to the craft.
The USS Constitution Museum
The Guild has enjoyed a long association with the Museum. We keep our library of books and ships plans there and have a workshop in which volunteer members demonstrate ship modeling to visitors. The Museum and guild co-sponsor an annual ship model exhibit and competition timed to coincide with the local winter school vacation.
Due to security requirements all members who wish to drive into the Navy Yard must be on the drive-in list. Please contact Larry Ward if you haven't actually driven in within the past three months or want to invite a guest who will drive. Larry must know by mid-morning on the Friday before a Tuesday meeting about guests. At the gate, the driver will have to show a picture ID. There is no need to show an ID to enter the Museum.
